  4. To Install:

  6. UnZip this file to a HD 3 1/2 disk or a subdirectory
  7. on your HD and run setup.exe.

  13. I wrote WinHelp+ to make the task of making help files alittle 
  14. easier. I hope that it indeed is doing that for you. I wrote 
  15. the original help file for version 1.0 in WinWord 2.0 and the 
  16. following versions with WinHelp+ 2.x. Needless to say the time was 
  17. cut in half. Now v2.20 supports QDHelp v2.0, but you need the 
  18. 3.1 version of HC.EXE to compile it. 3.0 will not do it for you.

  20. I am currently working on a PRO version of WinHelp+ (Commercial Release)...

  22.     The following is a list of some features:
  23.         * = already accomplished
  24.         ? = hopefully will be accomplished
  25.  
  26.     1) * Winhelp+ Pro revolves around an editor. Each topic 
  27. will be considered a seperate page. This will make it easier to 
  28. keep track, goto, and edit topics.
  29.  
  30.     2) * When you want to insert a link or popuplink, 
  31. etc... you highlight the text string and a list of topics will 
  32. popup and you simply choose form that list. The commands will 
  33. automatically be inserted.

  35.     3) * When you want to insert a bitmap, a dialog box 
  36. will popup and you choose the bmp by filename. You can view and 
  37. edit the bmp right there! And again, WinHelp+ PRO takes care of 
  38. the commands, and also inserts the path info into the HPJ file!

  40.     4) * Test your jumps right from WinHelp+ PRO!!!! When 
  41. you select this command, the text will be reformatted and all 
  42. jumps/links will turn red. If you click on that text, you will 
  43. automatically jump to the linked page you set up. You can 
  44. browse, go back, get a history, etc... just like the 
  45. WINHELP.EXE itself without having to compile your file!!!!

  47.     5) * Will contain the same ability to use QDHELP. 
  48. Matter of fact, you can import QDH files and write QDH files. 
  49. Import RTF and write RTF. WinHelp+ PRO will automatically write 
  50. your HPJ files and I am currently working on a mapping dbase so 
  51. that the user can map the help file.

  53.     Now the hopefulls....

  55.     1) ? Read and write HELP MAGICIAN files with their help 
  56. and permission.

  58.     2) ? WYSWYG editor features... This is NOT easy even in C!
  59.  
  60.     3) ? Your suggestions and/or ideas...

  63. Hopefully soon, WinHelp+ and the WinHelp+ PRO will be sold 
  64. commercially. But anyone who registers WinHelp+ v2.x will get 
  65. all upgrades for my upgrade fee.
